The Fred Somerset Memorial Scholarship Program (FSMSP), founded in 1996, has become a global initiative that addresses systemic inequalities through education, culture, and empowerment. In Brazil, women, especially those from underserved communities, face challenges of low self-esteem, limited access to quality education, domestic violence, and economic dependence.
To address these barriers, FSMSP established the English Learning and Women's Empowerment Program, a transformational project that equips Brazilian women with English language proficiency, self-esteem support, counseling services for victims of domestic violence, and pathways to financial independence.
It is with great honor that we begin our journey on Brazilian soil, starting with the community of Santíssimo, in Rio de Janeiro.
Our mission is clear: to extend a hand to women and families in vulnerable situations, offering real, dignified, and transformative support.
In partnership with @Alessandra Antão, an activist and resident who works to promote health and well-being in her community, and the Harriet B. Wright Missionary Society of Greater Morris Chapel AME church we are directly present on the front lines, where transformation happens.
💊 **Health First**
We offer financial assistance for the purchase of essential medications, ensuring that no treatment is interrupted.
But our commitment goes beyond immediate assistance. We believe in the empowerment and autonomy of each woman. Therefore, we offer free of charge:
✅ Online English courses
✅ Individual and family counseling
✅ Beauty and self-esteem care
✅ Awareness of physical and mental health
We are here to build new paths, awaken potential, and transform stories.
**Shall we do it together? 🤝**
